New to the area. Where is the best place to fish around Old Town?

Four Mile Run (which is just north of Old Town and Potomac Yard) is a classic Tidal Potomac spot to fly fish inside the Beltway, though it gets a lot of traffic. Just make sure not to fish there at low tide. A little farther north, just upstream from Reagan National Airport, the inlet to Roaches Run and Roaches Run itself are good spots. Holmes Run, which is mostly east and slightly south of Old Town has a resident panfish population and is actually stocked with trout a few times a year in the Spring and Fall.

Four Mile Run is usually my go-to, but it can be smelly sometimes. Definitely recommend hosing off your waders afterwards. It's always good for a couple small bass or bluegill.
