I am considering getting a Boga Grip or a similar tool.

I wanted to hear some of your experiences with them.  Which tool to you use?  What do you like about it?  What don't you like about it?  Any suggestions about one.

I do a lot of wading and kayaking.  Would it be useful from those platforms?

Thanks for any information that you have on them.

I have the Fish Grip Fish holder. It is great, it looks similar to a large vise grip but is plastic. It is about $14.00 I think and they float! I have used them on stripers, bass, pickerel and carp and it has held up well and allowed me to control the fish. I have used them when wading and kayaking and no issues. One thing I really like about it, is that the part gripping the fish has a large surface area so it doesn't poke through the fish's skin. Also it is really light so I can clip it to my bag or what ever I am wearing when fishing and not feel it. It doesn't have a scale however.

I love the Fish Grip Fish holder. Does everything that Tom says and although it doesn't have a built-in scale, it does have an insert for an external scale. Just got to subtract the 12oz or whatever it is from the total weight.

I use the Berkeley one from bass pro. I likes the one from ebay that was $25 which also told the temp. It took a swim during Urban Lines and the digital part stopped working. Gene has it now for the griping fish part.

I have both the Fish Grip and Boga Grip for my kayak. I like them both but use them for different purposes. The fish grip is light and holds the fish well so i can use it when i am wading and don't take my net. I typically use the fish grip majority of the time but when i catch a big or good fish i will put them on the Boga to weigh them. I have looked at many different types of grips similar to the boga and if it is the scale you want to use, i would highly suggest the Boga. Many imitations do not deliver on the scale but i know they are pretty expensive. If you want to be able to weigh then go for the Boga but if you don't need that i would go with the fish grips. Or you could do what i did and get them both! haha
