Admittedly after the fact in Richmond, but it bears repeating that one should NOT go over a lowhead dam in high water or low. It'll kill you.

Good advice.

One more thing: wear your PFD. Theoretically, you can still drown in a PFD under certain circumstances, but I can't remember ever reading a local story about drowning where the victim was wearing a PFD.

final other thing: If you're going to wade anywhere bigger than a small/medium trout stream, especially for smallies or on the North Branch, check the water level/CFS before you go!
