Nice afternoon at Holmes Run.

First time out to Holmes Run creek. Furthermore, new member and first ever post to the group!

Found several decent brown and rainbow trout in the deeper pools in proximity to fast water approximately 200-300 yards beneath the dam. They seamed to agree with just about everything I threw at 'em :)

figuring out how to include photos on your first post... more impressive than the fish. 

those are some of the best looking fishing i've seen come out of the sewer crick tho.

Nice work! I figured Holmes and Accotink would be washed out this weekend. I had some luck at Accotink last weekend, I guess VDGIF got around to stocking at some point this spring, although I've been checking weekly and have yet to see either on the stocking schedule.

Yeah, presumably so.

Where along the Akotinc Creek do you fish? I fished the top 1/4 mile once, a couple weeks ago, but didn't have much luck.

I found the best areas to be a fair bit upstream of the softball fields as you come into Wakefield Park off Braddock. If you walk behind them you'll hit a bike path to follow to some good areas.

Okay. Haven't tried much of the bottom end of the creek near the park, yet. But hope to get out there soon!

I've fished the Accotink near Braddock road and around Wakefield Park. You can park next to the softball fields off Glen Park Road and walk the power lines before you cut into the trail. Or you can also just park at Wakefield and follow the bike trail.

It is hit or miss down there. I've caught a couple trout in the pools this spring, but recently no luck. I ran into a guy walking his dog and he claimed his son caught four about half a mile up the day before I was there.
