Any of you guys replaced a reel foot on a scientific angler or Orvis reel? My SA 1011 was made in England and has some weird screws securing the reel foot. Same type as on my Battenkill 8/9 reel. I cant figure out what to use to remove them. I have a new one  on the way. The old foot no longer sits properly on my reel seat. I emailed SA too, but thought i would check here as well. Thanks.

Bill Archuleta's Reel Works is a good place to start for repairs on old and new Hardy, SA, and Orvis reels, among others.  I hear he's great to deal with so you may just ask him for advice.  He has a repair shop out of Oregon so I won't link his site here but it's easy enough to find via google.  Good luck!

Did you get this taken care of?

A picture would help.   If you are going to have to replace the reel seat anyway, grinding it down a bit with a dremel tool might get it to fit well in the meantime.
I have a few older system 2's and they have normal phillips screws.

Well, I took care of it in a manner of speaking. I ended up drilling the old screws out. I had Dan at the Orvis shop look at this reel about a year ago and neither one of us recognized the screw head (looked like a phillips but didnt fit any phillips that he or I had available). Also, years of saltwater use probably allowed some corrosion to set in locking them up. Anyway, supposedly I have a new part on its way from SA. The old foot is just warped badly lengthwise. I wish I had a decent camera. I know from another thread I googled up that others have had the same problem. For the price point these reels have a good drag system so I didnt want it to just keep gathering dust. Thanks for the followup advice.
