I'm seriously not trying to catch Carp but this is the 4th one in 4 weeks (3 Saturday's and yesterday) that I have landed a Carp. Never thought about cathing them but they are really fun on a 5wt rod!!

They're a blast! One of my favorite fish. Where are you getting them?

Little Hunting Creek. I'll tell you that I used to see fly Rodders there but not anymore. It's like they have up fishing that place! I fished there since I was a kid and is my go to spot ALMOST EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND and always have a blast with my Fly rod and fish. The secret is to work the corners of the bridge and a sink line will lead your fly to them ;) FYI the gars are moving in to spawn :D I saw what looked to be a 4' Gar swim under the bridge.

That's a good one!  Every picture of a carp makes me jealous that I didn't catch it ;).  They're my favorite fish to catch around here.

Nice carp man!

Where you at Arlington orvis today around noon? I think I just spoke to you about sinking fly line.. and catching carp. I wish I had more time to talk, had to run back home before my cleaners came, also hadn't seen your post until now.

Nice fish man, are you on the potomac side or the little hunting creek side of the bridge? Also does tide and water flow matter when you are fishing there? I live really close to the bridge so maybe we can meet up sometime.

I'm on both sides. Tides coming in puts me on the Potomac side. Tide going out puts me on the LHC side. Honestly I'm not sure when to tell you to fish for them. I've caught them tide coming in, tide going out , and slack tide.

Sorry, I prematurly hit the post button. I guess there is a way to find my email address here so go ahead and shoot me something! We can meet up there. Just stay away from the beach if you are going to be using a sink line. About 10 yrs ago a guy was dropping crank bait traps around that area. I'm asumming he forgot that he had a couple of them in there.FYI you'll see the carps airborn in the morning and afternoon of both sides of the bridge but a kayaks/canoe will be needed to reach those points.
