Fellow TPFR members,

Today , June 21st marks the first day of summer, which means only one thing....you should have started getting ready for the 2nd annual TPFR Bluegill Tournament!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is serving as a save the date notice. We will be holding the 24 hour tournament September 9th, approximately one month later than we did last year in hopes of avoiding the brutal heat we experienced last August.  For those not privy to last years event this is essentially a Pan fish Tournament. In fact at the last TPFR officers meeting we almost changed the name to the "TPFR Pan fish Tournament". However, after we realized how much angst calling it a  Bluegill Tourney caused Rob Snowhite we decided that the name was just fine. So it is a Sunfish Tournament with no crappie or Largemouth Bass allowed or as one fine TPFR member stated... Lepomis only.

General Rules will be the same as last year:

1.       All federal, State, and local laws must be obeyed.
2.       Only the use of Fly rod and reel
3.       Fish must be caught in DC, MD, or VA
4.       All submissions must be emailed to tournament organizers no later than 4pm Saturday, August 13th

5.       You absolutely must have fun.

We will have further information regarding Awards Ceremony, measurement, registration, fish categories, etc. as we get closer to September, 9th. Other than bragging rights we will be awarding medals to winners in each category. Please see photo of last years sweet medals below as well as a shot of some winners.

I prospected a new hole today and set my personal best for number of sunnies caught in 60 minutes. I will be ready for September, 9th! Also attached is my first Sunny of Summer.

Save the Date!!!! And more details to come!!!!

-Trent

Crap, I won't be back from vacation. Can I count Bluegills caught in Ontario?

Heck yeah, can't wait for the fierce competition for smallest fish! I'll be prepared for it this year. Scouting will have to begin soon!

So I'll only need 3/4 as many 3/4 complete flies?
