Enjoy your time in Marinette county. It's a beautiful place, unless you really like hills. Keep an eye open for the granite that's all over the terrain. Very cool stuff.
The best advice I can give is to try the Peshtigo River. You could probably find something closer, but I don't think it's that far from Goodman. There's a fly fishing only section in the bottom right of this map
It's wadeable, and it holds some larger fish. Apparently they have some trout waters north of County Rd C as well
but I can't comment on that.
I went once and was skunked (The TU guy who did catch fish used streamers and would work them around the submerged rocks.) My experience in WI is with wild brookies and browns on small small ponds and streams that were through private property, so I can't direct you to them. What I can say is that if you find a publicly available stream, be prepared to work very hard keeping your line out of the flora.
Flies. I did very well with size 12 wolly buggers with black bodies and grizzly hackle. If you're a dry fly guy, I once out-fished my grandfather using a grasshopper patterns, while he stuck to his trusty royal wolf.
