I think there was a discussion some time ago about fishing in Southern Florida.
Am looking for suggestions for fishing for a day or so, in the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami area.
Any info on guides, etc. in the area would be appreciated.
Thanks
Art

Hi Art.

I lived in Miami for six years and regular took charters out on the Miss Britt (https://www.missbritt.com).

Depending on the season, you can be fishing for sailfish, swordfish, mahi or tuna.  They generally troll with kites/outriggers.

The charter departs from Coconut Grove marina, next to Monty's raw bar.

You are unlikely to be disappointed.

I second Miss Britt. Very professional operation. Only negative is they can kind of make it feel like tourney fishing sometimes.

Cannot speak from personal experience, but I have heard great things about Mark Hall guiding for peacock bass or tarpon on the fly.  You can do searches in this forum and find first-hand reviews.

Both of these guides were great and I plan to use again.  We did an overnight trip for snook under the dock lights with Patrick, and it was cooler and the fishing was hot.  If they are busy, they will know who to recommend

Captain Jason Sullivan  (risingtid...@gmail.com) does bass, tarpon, snook around Miami and the everglades…

Patrick Smith – Captp...@swamptosea.com does snook and much else in the Miami area.
