Looking to do a day kayak-flyfishing float of the North or South Fork of the Shenandoah. Put in location and pull out (will drop one car off at pull out). Doing my research with all the rain of what sections fishing well.

Suggestions would be welcomed - was looking at stretch before Loray (SF) or around Edinburg (NF). Fished area before Front Royal and so more tubers than fish.

I was thinking of the South Fork either 0 dark 30 on saturday am or later in the day. Planning on the stretch around Alma (south of Luray). Apparently it's wadable and yakable (new word). So, if anyone would like to join me, we could yak and put in above Alma and float it. I have a truck that will hold two yaks in the back (starting to sound like a Dr. Zuess book).

Or we could just wade.

I did a float I think in that area on Sunday with Joe and Dave. As many have reported, TONS of 6-8 inch class fish, with a small handful of 12-13 inch fish. We saw a few massive bass though, just couldn't get an eat. We also saw two musky and maybe a third, but couldn't move them either.

With this dry spell that water has got to be crystal clear. Enjoy.

In fairness to ourselves, Jeff, we couldn't move the massive bass or musky because they were actually rocks.
