Subject: {Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders} Horsepower at Fletchers

If one were to buy/borrow a motor for the wooden rowboats at Fletchers, how much horsepower would you need to be able to handle the current there?

I've seen people with electric trolling motors, so I imagine any low hp gas engine will be fine.

Hey there TPFR - long-time lurker, but I thought I'd chime in since I can offer some actual knowledge here.  We have a 42 lb. thrust electric motor that is a bit underpowered.  It's fine for tooling around the cove, but it is slow to get upstream towards Chain Bridge.  If I was buying an electric motor, I would not buy less than 50 lb. thrust.   Per previous poster, any gas engine would probably be fine.
