Yesterday, Kevin Eichinger landed the first Hickory Shad on the fly. He was using a tournament winning shad fly. He spilled his Guinness on a gold fly and cast it in the river while singing a little Irish Diddy. He was awarded with an 18 1/2 inch Hickory!

Has anyone heard about how the Rappahanock is doing in Fredricksburg as far as Shad? I don’t know if it’s usually ahead of Fletchers or later?

Got out Wednesday before the rain came. Fished for 4 hrs Landed a dozen and ost a few. Not bad for March. Also saw 2 sections of the new dock being towed up river and installed.
