Hey -- anyone know whether VDIF plans to stock Accotink or whether something catastrophic is going on over there which would preclude stocking? I know Holmes seems to have quite a wide variety of weirdness going on, but I haven't heard anything about Accotink. It's kind of fun to run over there and catch a few stocked trout and sunfish when you don't feel like driving around a lot.
Fished SNP again yesterday -- slow morning, but really picked up in the middle of the day. Had to use a rollcast hookset for the first time when a fish popped up about 3 feet in front of me. Trying the Oliver Edwards little rollcast pick up, spring creek thing to avoid splash and also pulling the stupid fly under and soaking it all the time. It works! Tons of centipedes still roaming around, and yellow sallies, huge mayflies and #28 midges everywhere---light and dark ones. I smashed a few to compare to my fly box. Loads of college girls showed up in the late afternoon wearing do-rags in Jeep Wranglers, so we got the heck out shortly thereafter.
Obviously these aren't limestone streams, but you know.
The hardest part is doing it left-handed like he does. If anyone knows a right-handed version, let me know and I'll relay to Beth!
