Do you all use Fishbrain? Social media fishing app where you post catches and you can see locations and pics of catches around DC and the country.

Happy 4th to all!

William,
I use it on occasion to track 4MR fishing activities. I've posted a few SNP Brookie and Holmes run Sunfish photos. They have a fee if you want to see specific location data.

I downloaded it with very selfish intent, and then uninstalled it when I realized all the local lakes that I didn't know about initially were private.

I don't personally use that app, but sometimes when I do a google search on a new spot, I see reports from a website called Fishidy. At a glance it seems similar to Fishbrain. After reading some of the posts on Fishidy, my advice is to take any of these fishing report apps with a gigantic grain of salt - about a third of the people posting reports cannot correctly ID the species of fish they catch, nor estimate length and weight very accurately. I'd venture a guess that sometimes people post reports for the wrong location, too. Personally I would find it hard to trust the reports.

Fishbrain has contacted me for advertising. The people I’ve e-mailed with are rather inept at their job and don’t seem to understand English. I’ve stopped replying to them. I think they offered me a free trial but have no interest in the app.
