to Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders
To ALL BEER TIERS!!

This is a heads up and reminder that the next TPFR BEER TIE is TOMORROW NIGHT at Whitlow's on Wilson from 7PM-9PM (bar open at 6PM).

As we have done for the past several years, we will again be collecting flies for donation to the upcoming CCA Banquets taking place over the next few months.  Our TPFR "BAR FLIES" have always brought in some good money in their silent auctions which has gone directly to protecting our fish and fishery at the grass roots level.

So, if you are coming to BEER TIE tomorrow, or the one on March 10th, please plan to tie or bring along some pre-tied patterns to toss into the stripping basket for donation.  Any and all patterns are appreciated (Fresh/Salt/Bass/Shad/etc.).

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

The Northern Virginia CCA Chapter is pleased to invite you to our Fourteenth Annual Dinner and Auction taking place on Saturday, March 15th, 2014 at 6:00 pm.  This year’s event will be at The Shriners Kena Temple in Fairfax, VA.  We have been working very hard with our donors and supporters in gathering a wide array of Auction items that are sure to impress – We will have over $20,000 of Merchandise – some of which is listed on the attached flyer.

Here are some of teh Captains that have donated trips:

Capt. Mike Starrett
Capt. Brady Bounds
Capt. Mark Galasso
Capt. John Paige Williams
Capt. Richie Gaines
Capt. Frank Carver
Capt. Dennis Fleming
Capt. Pete Dahlberg
Capt. Gary Neitsey

These are the best of the best and most will do fly trips!

We are extremely grateful to all of our Supporters and thank them for their part in helping CCA Conserve, Protect, and Restore our marine resources.

This Fundraiser will help our Chapter with many activities this year, including the “Save a Kid – Catch a Fish” trip we host each summer, guest speakers, and our contributions to the State CCA office which leads our conservation efforts.

Our event is an excellent opportunity to meet many fellow conservationists, pick up some very nice Auction items, and have a great time!  This year’s event will be catered, featuring Hors D’oeuvres, Dinner, and a Full Bar.  We are offering an EARLY BIRD coupon worth $20 off any Auction item for tickets purchased prior to February 28th.

Shawn Kimbro will be our guest speaker – Shawn is an accomplished musician, avid outdoorsman, and writer.    He will be entertaining us with his own brand of Bluegrass music by performing some original songs about fishing, and the Chesapeake Region. He is currently serves on several committees for CCA Maryland.

Our Banquet Committee Members will be happy to help you obtain tickets and answer questions.

Tyler- some do and some don't. Last year Aden came and brought his wife. They won the tickets we gave away. I think they had a good time.

We will be giving away 2 individual tickets at the next Beer Tie on March 10. Be sure to be at Whitlows that night!

I don't know that I've attended a fly fishing event without Beth come to think of it.  I can't see it as anything other than "awesome" if she wants to go with you, even if it ends up being pretty dude-heavy.  Just go for it.

Spending time is key!  More time = much more better.

I agree with Gene and he used one of my favorite phrases; "much more better. "!

What I can tell you about the event is that for the auctions (live and silent) and the bucket raffle, we collect many donated items and focus on stuff for everyone, not just fishing stuff (although heavy emphasis there). lots of Gift Cards as well.
