New to Fly Fishing

I recently purchased a 9' 5wt primarily for trout, but I would like fish for bluegill and smallmouth. Where are the best places to fish bluegill and smallmouth in DC?

When the weather warms up you can find bluegill in the shad under the trees overhanging the Tidal Basin. Fish at high tide as they will be closer to the trees for protection.

There are some good smallmouth in the tidal basin as well.
