Hello, does anyone have any recommendations for a guide for a smallmouth float trip (fly fishing)?

Thanks!

Mossy Creek Outfitters!  I haven't used them yet, but they do have a great reputation for their guided float trips.

Two recommendations, depending on where you want to go.

In Harpers Ferry WV for both the Shenandoah and Potomac (they’ll pick for you based on how the rivers are performing), White Fly Outfitters. Bryan Kelly runs the shop.   He like to put you on big fish. If you're more concerned about catching, one of the other guides might be better. We went out with Mike in May    https://www.whiteflyoutfitters.com/about-us.htm

In the Shenandoah Valley, Mossy Creek. https://mossycreekflyfishing.com/
We floated out of Elkton with Wayne a couple of weeks ago.

Both shops can bring spin tackle if you have a partner that doesn’t fly fish or you want to take a break.

Tight lines!!

Cheers,

I agree with the Brian Kelly recommendation for Shenandoah or Harpers Ferry Potomac.
also in that area is https://www.kfguideservices.com/  which is a mix of Spin and Fly.

If you're going to do a full day float, I would probably expect to switch to spin fishing at some point to save your shoulder (especially during the middle of the day).

If you want to head up to PA, to fish the Juniata, either Precision or TCO could set you up with a guide, or if you want a different recommendation, reach out to me offline.

All, thanks for the great recommendations--my dad is coming into town for the weekend so wanted to do this with him. Ended up booking with Bryan Kelly, because he was the first I looked into who had availability. Really looking forward to it!

I have fished with Travis Edens and CT Campbell numerous times over the years.  Both are great guides who work very hard are to put you on fish.

Travis fishes the main stem of the Shenandoah as well as the Harper’s Ferry area.   CT fishes stretch of Shenandoah close to Luray.

CT Campbell of Page Valley Fly Fishing is great…based in Luray and rows the South Fork of the Shenandoah River. Knows that stretch of river better than anyone.
