I'm headed up to Vermont in a couple of weeks and I was hoping to get some fishing in when I am staying in Burlington. I'm intrigued by Lake Champlain. There are some very interesting fish species that live in that lake (not to mention a shot a catching Champ), but I may not have ready access to a boat. Are there any rivers within a reasonable distance of Burlington that I could easily get out on in the mornings or evenings? Also, do you recommend any fly shops in the area where I can get good beta?
Thanks for the help!

I’ve fished the Lamoille in Fairfax and the Winooski, there are also some nice Brooke streams around. I’ve heard good things about https://www.flyrodshop.com

I was in Burlington in late April and was hoping to fish but was completely rained out. I was recommended to reach out to The Fly Rod Shop(802) 253-7346 . I was in touch with them but unfortunately everything was totally blown out. Good luck!

Could cross the lake and go fish the ausable and saranac. Iso fishing should be good.
