It's that time of the month again, our Beer Tie and annual Holiday Party is taking place next Monday, December 14 at Whitlow's.

We'll be holding a huge raffle with all money going to Frogman Outdoors, a group that provides recreational rehabilitation to wounded SOCOM veterans. So far, we have the following items for the raffle:
- Orvis Recon 7wt Outfit (with 9' 7 wt, Access Reel and HD line)--this is a sick outfit, thanks to Art and Kathy from Orvis!
- TPFR Hat
- Some items Rob Snowhite procured at the NC fishing show (Sam Ron Worms, Fish Skull t shirt, koozies, Brown Trout Chum shade retainer, Towee Boat hat and more!)
- Two dozen shad flies
- Various fly tying material

Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.

In addition to raffle, we're holding a Tacky Sweater Contest; bust out your tackiest Christmas, Chanukah or other holiday sweater--a fresh TPFR hat goes to the tackiest.

In addition to the raffle, we'll be debuting the new TPFR hats for $20 and as always Rob Snowhite will be teaching at the beginners table.

For more info on Frogman Outdoors check out their website or talk to their leaders in person next Monday: http://www.frogmanoutdoors.org

Hope to see everyone and their tacky sweaters on Monday!

We will tie the festive 'candy crane fly' that I made up this week. Super easy and should fool some dumb fish.

Here is the San Ron Worm. Ron gave me a dozen. We'll prob split them up.

See y'all Monday.

It wouldn't be a post if I didn't forget a few things.

Per usual, Whitlow's will open the Sandbar at 6PM and serve until 10.

John Bilotta has also graciously donated a one hour Spey or single hand casting lesson. Buy a bunch of tickets, maybe you can pull down this lesson and the new rod.

Look forward to seeing everyone Monday!

Another reminder, the party is on tonight from 7-9 at Whitlow's in the Sandbar. Bring cash or cards for raffle tickets with all proceeds going to Frogman Outdoors and pick up some TPFR hats for yourselves and to stuff some stockings.

See you there!

I don't own any tacky sweaters. I gave all my golf sweaters (gifts from Mom) to charities. I propose TPFR hold a funky fishing hat contest sometime.

The raffle keeps growing, Nick from Port City dropped off a growler, 4 pint glasses and some free tasting/tour cards; and Alex from The Wydown coffee bar is putting in some coffee, a mug and a sweet thermos.

Mark, that is a good idea, kind of a replace your old funky hat contest.

I'm leaving the office soon and will be at Whitlow's around 6:30, looking forward to seeing everyone out.

Super strong Beer Tie/Holiday Party last night. I didn't get an exact headcount but I'd say we had at least 70-80 people in attendance.

From the raffle, we raised $913.26 (after CC fees) for Frogman Outdoors, not quite a record but close. Lucky Ludes took down the grand prize Orvis Recon 7wt outfit, and many others got some solid prizes. TPFR took in just under $600 from hat sales, so we're well on our way to making a second (less limited) edition order. Scott Stankus took the tacky sweater prize, but hate to say that Brian Randolph would've won if he showed up 10 minutes earlier.

I'd like to thank all of you for coming out; and contributing your hard earned money.

Thanks to all of our donors for the raffle as well:
Art and Cathy from Orvis for the Recon outfit
John Bilotta of TPFR and Georgetown Fly Fishing for the casting lesson
Alex McCracken from The Wydown coffee bar for the coffee kit
Nick from Port City Brewing for the growler & tasting kit
Dave from El Centro for the gift card
Rob Snowhite of TPFR and Fly Fishing Consultant for the flies and various swag
Miles Townes for fly tying materials and literature
Kevin from Kenmore Fly Shop for the fly ornaments

And thanks to Whitlow's for hosting us the past couple years, Rob Snowhite just renewed our lease for 2016 (details and dates forthcoming).

A lot of people get to walk in and have a good time at these kind of events, largely due to the work that goes on behind-the-scenes.  Thanks to DT and RSW and the other folks for putting these on!
