Being a bit of a scientist, I looked at the article. The article is very narrow and wouldn’t tell you much about survival. What you can conclude from the article is: fish with acute injury can not open their months as wide and the predicted pressure is reduced. From there you can hypothesize (not conclude) that feeding is reduced in these test conditions. The next major leap is to survival. Survival is a measure that includes many more variables that are outside the paper. So I would not make that asumption given what they measured.

That being said, it would be awesome to see how our various flies perform with CFD models. I bet our friend the clouser moves right in. Then again that is a hypothesis and we would need to test it.

These studies are good to think about....great idea to post!
