Get up, get up, get up, catch some fish and get up! That is a little diddy from Bone-Thugs-and-Harmony for those that didn't recognize it.

Spring took to long to come around so I made a trip to Fort Pierce, FL to hunt some salty critters and see my parents. Fishing the last couple days has been pretty good off my parents dock. The Snook and Jacks in particular have put some pretty big bends in my 8-10wts. The Snapper bite has been steady but they are generally on the smaller side.  My mom stuck a nice Sheephead with a live shrimp yesterday afternoon as well (pictured) and she just missed a monster Snook on a live Pilchard.

That's a nice snook Trent! isn't it eerie getting a tug on your line at night? always gives me the heebie jeebies a little bit.

Do mangrove snapper pull as hard as their Papua New Guinea cousins?

That is a Mutton Snapper. We generally get a mixed bag of Mutton and Lane with a few Grey in the mix, rare but we get an occasional Red Snapper as well. Moms is catching up quick with her live Shrimp tactics! Check out the Black Drum.

Misha, I love the night time bite down here because 90% of the time its a Snook.
