Thanks for sharing this news, Seth. 

I hope they can figure this one out, and soon. Curious that the affected area seems to be downstream of I-70 and connected to a high water event. Maybe a dangerous chemical got spilled and flushed into the creek, but the surge should have diluted it.

That or a dangerous chemical got disturbed *by* the surge and in sufficient quantities that the surge was not enough to dilute it.

Could be anything.  Someone in the homes above the creek could’ve emptied a swimming pool, or a spill washed something off the highway, or maybe someone did a massive lawn or crop chemical treatment that washed into the creek.

 

They took samples Thursday and should have results in a week or 2.
