Our annual Holiday Party and December Beer Tie is coming up next Monday, December 11 at Whitlow's on Wilson in the Sandbar. Doors open at 6PM and and you'll get booted at 10PM. As always, we'll have a beer special and half-priced burgers.

We're going big on the raffle this year with multiple rods and bunch of other gear, including the following:
  • Orivs Recon 8 weight rod, reel, and line outfit ($750 value)
  • Fenwick 6wt classic fiberglass rod
  • NYC subway-sized rat flies tied by Pat Cohen ($25+ value)
  • C&F Designs Fly Box
  • Hats
  • & More

Raffle tickets will be $5 each or 5 for $20--be sure to buy a bunch for these sweet prizes; proceeds will go to funding our operations and help support future fundraisers and events.

We will also be having an Ugly Sweater Contest; wear your ugliest holiday sweater and win the following prize-pack:

  • Display quality (i.e. possibly not fishable but good for the mantle) Montague bamboo rod
  • Display quality antique reel
  • Set of hip waders--equally as ugly as your sweater

After a lot of concern with last year's contest, we will not be allowing the entry of those wearing full Santa Claus suits.

Rob Snowhite will also be teaching flashy, holiday-themed flies at the beginner table.

Look forward to seeing everyone out next Monday, and we'll be posting image updates before the event.

Thanks,
Dalton

Another reminder, the TPFR Holiday Party and Beer Tie is coming up tonight.

We have a huge raffle with the brand new Orvis Recon 8wt outfit, a classic fiberglass rod, some sweet fly ornaments, nippers, a couple hats, and of course some books.

Also, don't forget to wear your ugly sweater for a chance to win a matching ugly hip waders and bamboo rod.

I hope the young man who was awarded the Montague fly rod grand prize does well with it and has a ton of fun casting it. I didn't get my first bamboo fly rod until I was 40. ☺

Thanks for all of the attendance and financial support last night, and congrats to our winners.

Grandpa Shad took home the grand prize Recon rod outfit, with Carson taking the Montague bamboo rod. With raffle ticket sales, we made a couple hundred bucks after prize costs.

Thank you to all of our donors::
Trent from Orvis Bethesda for the discount Recon, free nippers, Cohen rats, tons of other flies and hat
Richie from District Angling for the Scientific Anglers hat and line
Art from Orvis Tysons for the red balls, rods, and other gear
Kevin from Kenmore Fly Shop for the Christmas ornaments
Mark Sofman for the library collection and magazines
Rob Snowhite for the flies and jerky
Tom Urman for the cool catfish and game
Alex from The Wydown for the coffee

Thank you for all of your support!
