I'm staying at the Woodloch resort in the Poconos this upcoming weekend and am looking for either a good guide recommendation or preferably any DIY location recommendations for the area.

Haven't been up there in quite a while, but you could check out a DIY on Lackawaxen River or Dyberry Creek. You might want to scope out PA Fish & Boat Commission's site, esp. the interactive maps: http://fishandboat.com/county.htm (Woodloch's is in Pike County.) This too: http://www.paflyfish.com/modules/smartsection/item.php?itemid=143 As for shops and guides, it's been too damn long since I was up there.

In the future if any one asks about fishing spots, I think I'm just gonna say:
Ask Richie Farino. ;-)
Because I think Iwill.

My fishing buddy back home used to call me Easy Button. Seems apropos these days.
I just didn’t want someone getting washed down one of the rivers I cut my teeth on all the way to the Zane Grey Museum without fair warning.
