10 Year Anniversary Casting Church

Hey everyone,

Come out to Fletcher’s on Sunday April 7th from 8am till 12pm to celebrate the 10 Year Anniversary of Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders!

Dan Davala, our Founder and Member Emeritus is coming all the down from VT to help us celebrate!

We will have several of the most experienced casting instructors around the area in attendance. Swing by and tune up you loops while helping us celebrate 10 Years of Serving the Tidal Potomac Flyfishing Community.

Please try and RSVP in this thread if you can , so we can get a rough head count.

Also, look for a post about our 10 Year Anniversary Beer Tie in the days to come.

I will be there, but hopefully in a boat on the water!

Was out today and apparently caught the first American of the season (on the fly of course).

They are here and there are some FATTIES. Pink and Chartreuse (standalone and combo (tutti fruitti) ) seemed to do the trick.

I'm planning to be at Fletcher's on Sunday regardless and would like to start putting my newly-minted CI to use. Count me in if you need an additional instructor. Also, is the plan to do both 1-hand and 2-hand instruction?

Alright everyone, looks like we've got a great group put together for our 10 year casting church.

This would be a great time to invite someone who has never tried casting before. Again, we've got several instructors at this church so invite a friend.

If you would like to learn some spey casts just bring waders and boots and any rod with a floating line. Reagan or Myself can show you how yo make any spey cast with your single hand rod as well!

The Davalas made it in safely Friday night and are looking forward to she festivities!

Thanks for a great morning yesterday.  I've lurked on the forum for years.  It's been a great source of info and inspiration as I've learned about fly fishing.  Today was the first time I actually made it to one of your meet ups and it was great. 

Thanks Dan, for taking the time to introduce my girlfriend to casting.  Eleni came along to watch a bit and maybe take a walk and instead she found herself holding a fly rod for the first time and learning to cast. She's converted.  Next weekend we're heading out to get her on the water.

Thanks again, it was a real pleasure to meet a bunch of you.

That’s awesome Matt, thanks for coming out and for bringing Eleni out too!!  It was super fun working with you two and watching another caster come to life!  Eleni, you did AWESOME!!!  Hope you all make it out to more.  

Thanks to everyone else who came out too.  It was an incedible experience to be back at Fletcher’s again, and I am so thankful to everyone who has worked to keep the club going strong.  It warms my heart to see that after 10 years TPFR is still a positive, and welcoming community that is open and easy to participate in.   

Hope to see a bunch of you again tonight at the BEER TIE and 10th anniversary celebration!!  And thanks again to all of you who make TPFR what it is.
