Long story short, I am going to be in Austin for work on October 16th, my cousin lives down there, i booked a fishing trip, she had to cancel, I'm still going, and now need someone to split the cost of a full day guided trip.

Does anyone have any fly fishing friends down in the Austin area who would be willing to split the cost of a guide for a full day trip on Tuesday, October 17th?

It will either be a wade trip or a float trip TBD, cost will probably be somewhere between $225 and $275/person. Probably fishing the guadaloupe or other nearby river. A couple key logistics, i'll need to be picked up in Austin and dropped off in San Antonio (they're only an hour or so away from each other, and we'll be fishing in between). I'd have to dig up the guide service, and the details are still fuzzy, we were waiting to get closer on conditions before determining which exact river and what type of trip.

Hoping this group can signal boost the request to other fisherman in the Austin area. Can post to local groups down there, but hoped to be connected with a friend of a friend etc.

Thanks,

David

I just got back from the hill country yesterday.  I spent a few days fishing the llano.  Water was low but I caught a lot of fish, nothing overly large but did hook an absolutely monster largemouth that was 20 inches easily.

I don't know how about the guadaloupe specifically, but if you are not locked in with your guide I will say that it is a very DIY friendly area to fish assuming you can find shuttles.  You can do walk and wade as well but floating is the way to go imo.

Anyway, I know this doesn't really help you but I figure I'd throw out a report from that area since I got back less than 24 hours ago.
