Hey all,
Some time in the next week or two I'm planning fish the Upper Potomac for Walleye, Just below dam Dam # 4. Does anyone know what river gage and water level I should be looking at before heading out ? The last thing I want to do is get up there and have the river too high and discolored to fish.

Thanks in advance

I usually go by the Point of Rocks gage. Yeah, I know that's pretty far downstream, but it works for me. From my experience if P of R gage is 1.75 or lower that's safest, 2-2.5 is at the upper limit of safe, 4.0 and above? I'd stay out of the water.

ive been doing some research on the area and what I read (I could be wrong) that if its below 3.5 your good to go.
also they advertise the days they release the dam (I think its called whitewater days)
