Hey everyone,
I was looking to get up super early tomorrow to drive out to get some smallmouth action on the South Fork of the Shenandoah. I was looking at heading to the Shenandoah River State Park (Andy Guest) because it looks like it has some excellent wading access if you're willing to walk.

The park says they open at 0800, but I was curious if anyone has been there earlier than that, as I wanted to get out there when the sun rises. With other state parks on the North Fork, you can just pay via an envelope, but it looks like this one has an actual staffed kiosk and a gate they can close across the entrance.

Should I hedge my bets and just head elsewhere for the early morning?

Thanks!

Wade above bridge and fish down into bridge structure and shade.

Thanks rob for the suggestion!

I checked it out yesterday and looks like the park keeps the gates open at night in the regular season, so you just pay in an envelope at the front and can be on the river as early as you like.
