I'm heading down to the outer banks for the weekend.  Is there someplace that would have a shot at  being productive on streamers?

I'm willing to rent a kayak or fish from shore.  Taking waders and 2 8 wts.

Any pointers appreciated...

You might be able to pick up a couple reds wading the flats around Oregon inlet harbor, watch out for sharks

Pete, the Oregon Inlet idea Jim mentioned is solid, however I've had issues with duck hunters trying to share the area. Highly recommend Brian (Flat Out) or Sarah (Fly Girl) as guides but I think they usually head south this time of year.

Thanks for the pointers, I'll check them out.  The thrill of duck hunters above the water and sharks below should adrenalize the experience even more.  Anybody know where there is a bluegill pond down there? :-)

Been a long time since I was down there but heading north before you get to Kroger's if that is still there, there is a development on the Oceanside with a nice featureless pond that use to be loaded with crappie, bluegill and bass. Just a bit south of that shopping center. Hope it's still there. Another alternative would be to try around the whale head club which is mostly fresh.
