Over the weekend the zipper on my Reddington 3 wt rod case broke over the weekend and I completely lost the pull.  It doesn't sound like Reddington will cover it.  Any advice on where to get it fixed in the DMV?  I'd rather not have to go buy a new rod case. I'd do it myself, but even then, I'm not sure how.

Thanks!!

Try your dry cleaner.  Ours does tailoring, including replacing zippers on garments.

Cheers,

A 1" split ring from a craft store has been my pull solution. Feed it through the zipper piece. I have them on my luggage and sling packs where the flat YKK piece to pull the has broken off.

Second the motion on split rings. Might have to try a couple to see which one gets through the little hole.  Saved me $65 to repair a winter parka!

Thanks for the advice!! I think I misrepresented the problem. The slider broke off (and disappeared) so I need a replacement for the slider and I need that to be replaced as well as the bottom stop of the zipper mended.

Check G Sreet Fabrics for DIY zipper parts: sliders, stops, pulls, etc.  Seamstress or tailor at the cleaners could probably replace the entire zipper even though you might have to take the fabric off the PVC tube it's fitted to for he or she to work on it.

Keep an eye out on fleabay for an inexpensive rod case.  The cost of replacing the zipper will probably be as much as a new, inexpensive rod case.  You might see if Reddington will replace it for cheap, even if it isn't a warranty replacement.
