I'll be in Folly Beach, SC (outside of Charleston) this Saturday to next Saturday and would love to get some action on my new H3 8 wt.   A guide I spoke to fishes down there for redfish but told me that it's not a good time for it - he usually goes in July and October.  Still, I'd like to fish for SOMETHING, even offshore.  A week of family fun is great but a day of fishing is a great break.  Any suggestions welcome.

Be sure to eat at the Lost Dog (Bloody Marys) for breakfast and Witch Doctor for lunch. I can send you to a spot not far away if you send me a PM.

There should be big tarpon in Stono inlet this time of year along with plenty of sharks and drum. Not exactly 8-weight quarry but folks do occasionally catch them on flies in those low country inlets. Mostly a bait fishing proposition. I’m not speaking from experience just been researching a trip down that way myself. Found several good articles surfing the net.
