New to the game

Currently living in Ashburn, VA. I've only fished small ponds around the neighborhood, have somewhat of an idea of what I'm doing. Looking for relatively close by spots (within an hour) to hopefully catch my first trout! Taking suggestion from where to go to even what type of fly to use.

Hey Alex,

I'm also in Ashburn. Best bet is Catoctin Mountain streams in Frederick County MD, or Beaver Creek near Hagerstown. They can be reached in an hour or a bit longer. There are a few trout streams closer but they are very limited in terms of wild trout, you can find some good stocked water though (which isn't really my thing so others can probably help you more there).
