Looking for lessons

Hello!  So I joined this list a few years ago after buying a fly rod/reel and other accessories along with a former girlfriend.  We had big plans (for fly fishing and other things) but none of that quite came to pass.  My rod and reel have been collecting dust.  I haven't really ever used them and learning solo seems a bit overwhelming.  

Is there anyone out there who would be willing to let me tag along?  For a price I would pay for some tips and tricks along the way.  Alternatively, would anyone provide recommendations for instruction, and places to fish relatively close to downtown DC?
