Totally off topic but... does anyone have advice for hand lining or trapping off docks/piers for blue crabs? Looking to take my boys, ages 8 and 6, soon.
Thanks!

I've been crabbing in Bethany, Del for years. Frozen chicken necks are the best way to go. We've wrapped string around them, but some fishing stores now sell some type of apparatus to hold the necks in-place. If it's deep water or heavy current, add a little weight. Set the lines close to the pilings. If they're crabs, you'll be on'em rather quickly.
When the lines start moving, slowly retrieve to surface and have a "skilled" net-man at the ready. A good bucket is also advisable.
