Hi everyone,

Rod here, new to the group but fish the Potomac often. I'm thinking of heading to the river at Riverbed Park 9/9/16 around
sunrise, but I'm concerned that the water may be too warm. Any thoughts? Thanks a bunch!

Cheers,
Rod

I'm too novice to know how warm is "too warm," but this gauge has temperature, height, and flow close to Riverbend:

You should be good. I bet there is a pretty decent topwater bite in the evening right now.

Find current and you will find the bass. I recommend renting something at the park (if you don't have your own boat) and paddling at least a half mile upriver from the boat ramp. If you look on google maps satellite view, there's a clearing cutting across the middle of the big island. My friend and I were able to paddle up to that point pretty easily two weeks ago. We weren't fishing but everyone we saw who had lines in the water was doing well.

Thinking about fishing the Riverbend area this weekend. How is the weed/grass growth on the river in that area?

It's weedy in the slow water by the boat ramp but quickly disappears as you go upriver
