Definitely agree on getting off the water if there is lightning around. Found a cool website a few day ago:

It is a live feed of where lightning strikes are occurring. It seems to be community based and you can buy a sensor to mount at your house to track lightning. The webpage isn't great as you can't zoom in to a specific area, but there is this one which uses the data from the first:

I should have hopped on this last night during the storm, would have been cool to watch.

Article in a fly mag a few years ago stated you can be struck by lightening from a storm up to 10 miles away. ⚡️

Makes me glad to have a smartphone now with Doppler.
