Hey, All

After a very nice couple of days in Luray right on the Shenandoah, I came back and had my car broken into in DC the night before last, and a bunch of my gear taken. If any body comes across any one selling stuff cheap, let me know. I'd like to get my stuff back and/or rip their throat out. Among the items were two Orvis reels, including an aluminum mid arbor (Access, I think) with 8WF on it, and three fly boxes, all with my name and number on them, along with forceps, floatant, tippet, etc., as well as some backpacking equipment. I've been checking Craig's List and have hit the local pawn shops, but haven't had any luck so far.

I cab be reached via email through this account or at billw...@mac.com or on my cell at 703/868-0972.

Thanks,
Bill

I feel you Bill, the same happened to me several years back with a few thousand dollars of fishing gear. I left a bag with 7 or 8 reels in my car along with a few rods that go nabbed in an attempted theft of my car. I'd call the local Orvis shops and let them look out for someone trying to return the equipment.

Additionally, have you called your renters or homeowners insurance company yet? Your deductible may be too high to worry about this, but my insurance company paid out for all of my gear minus the deductible because the car was parked near my house.

Thanks, Dalton. I wasn't actual at my place and don't have renter's insurance, so I'm pretty much screwed.  All in all, about $500 worth of stuff.  Luckily, my truck has a trunk compartment that isn't very noticeable and I had most of my stuff, including my rods, in there.

If anyone knows a Bruce Hamilton who lived in Arlington in 2014, there's a sling bag and some stuff, including boxes with his name on them, at J&V Pawn on H Street, NE. His license is still in the bag.
