I love that area. I grew up going there every summer until recently when my family sold their property. What area/lake are you headed to? Walleye fishing is great up there this time of year though I never got one on a fly.

We've been going since 1980, thanks to my in-laws. If there are walleye to be caught in Newboro Lake, I've never caught one. Panfish, LMB, SMB, pike are the prey.  I've only fished Newboro, Loon, Mosquito Lakes. This year I'll be venturing out to check out Clear and Indian Lakes. There is a lot of water, more than any one could cover in a lifetime.

If you are able to, I would highly recommend fishing Bob's Lake. It is a largeer lake with great shoals to cast to. It is about 5-10 miles (depending on where you want to put in) past the town of Westport. Amazing place up there. Enjoy it!

Seen the signs and been past Bob's a couple of times driving around the countryside, Jamie. One of these days, before I get too old to put my kayak on the roof of the car and it's just me and the wife, I may make it to some of the other fishing holes in SE Ontario.  ;-) Algonquin is on my list for "sometime" and/or "one of these days" too.
