In about five months we will be inundated with cicadas. What are your fishing plans for this event? The wife is still horrified when I stopped at a 7-11 for a slurpee in 2004 and a cicada flew through the car window and landed on her. Unlike her I am looking forward to the cicadas.

Where will you fish?

What will you fish for?

What is your favorite pattern? I like this cicada tied with evazote foam.

Not fair!  You did not give us the link to your favorite Cicada fly.  Have you ever fished any of Chuck Krafts' cork cicadas?

now that i am aware that this will be occurring will absolutely plan some trips around it. curious if mossy and other creeks out that way will be a good place for it?

First cicada fly I ever saw was when I first met Rob in a Reston parking lot.  He was tying with supplies from Home Depot...

To me cicadas are like green drakes.  Fun to think about but rarely something that actually develops into anything exciting.

To me they’re like peanut butter. At least that’s what I remembered them smelling like when they stopped flying and started piling up in drifts around the houses and trees.

You’re welcome.
