Daughter stepped on what wife thought was a "fly" left lying around house by yours truly.  Daughter said "ow, my baby two toes are going numb."  Further investigation proved that while fly tying skills are fair at best, this was the real thing.

Can anyone tell me what "it" is?

Thanks.

Reduviidae?  AKA "Assassin bugs"

Awesome bugs -- and very beneficial.  Of course, they're capable of painful bites -- but it is generally not serious.
