Locations fo May 20th

I live in Warrenton, VA and the wife and the kids are going to be off with the Mother-in-Law on Saturday 5/20. Typically I fish for carp or bass in the neighborhood ponds, but since I will have the morning to myself I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions. I would like to possibly go after some trout and a buddy of mine mentioned Devil's Backbone in Boonsboro, MD. Has anyone fished there that may have some tips, or is there another stream I should consider? Also, again usually going after bass so any trout fly recommendations are always welcome.

The rose river is only about an hour away from you. Last weekend it was moving fast. Still caught some nice brookies. Take 670 to the trailhead and walk about a mile on the fire road. Stream on your right. By next weekend flow should be more normal and very fishable. Flashback pheasant tail nymph. 

6x, 7.5' leader. I was using a 4 Wt. anything from a 2-5wt will work.  It I was wishing for a 2wt.
