Hello folks, we had a trip planned to go fly fishing for trout to PA tomorrow but it got cancelled because of the weather/rain.

Does anyone have any recommendations for places to go fishing this weekend? (Ideally within 2-4 hours drive from DC.)

Shenandoah. I’ve had some great luck out there in the past and the area is beautiful. Although, it’s supposed to be pretty cold and they may get some snow tomorrow.

Big Stoney Creek in Shenandoah County near Edinburg.  Latest fishing report from today is here:

Try the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay. There are numerous tidal rivers and fresh water ponds. I'll just list a few spots but many more to choose from.

Blackwater River
Pocomoke River

There's a pond in Tuckahoe State Park.
A handful of  ponds in Idylwild Wildlife Management Area.
Unicorn Lake.

A variety of fish species to pursue including Largemouth Bass, Snakehead, Chain Pickerel, Crappie, Yellow Perch and other species

A weather front is passing through on Friday, so Sunday will probably be a better fishing day.

Hope this helps

The gunpowder river at falls rd looks good - A bit high - but she’s on her way down.

A bit high and off color water can make for some really good fishing!

Good luck!

Missed this chat, but if you're still keeping tabs, the one park stream I fish regularly (mostly because it's only a 30 min. drive and I'm lazy and don't want to hike out to Whiteoak much) has been fishing very well the past week or so. Very consistent heavy hatches.
