I was at a fly shop in St. Michael's this weekend and they had a rod made of lamiglass (I think that's what they called it. It was an 8wt in 7 1/2 feet. What made this rod ideal doe the kayak was that the tip could be bent to the butt with no issues I consider myself a novice fly caster but was able to manage a 75 foot cast from a seated position with ease
