Thank you for the guys that commented about NY.  My dad, myself, and my little brother got up there the sunday, monday, and Tuesday before thanksgiving.  It was a blast.  It was my little brothers first real trip with my dad and I.  the first day was a bit cold, and after no action from dawn till 2pm, they left me on the river and went to sight see around the area a little bit.  I got a few browns after they left, they were mad.  the 2nd day my little brother had a steelhead in the net before 8am.  the rest of the time only improved.  there are a few pics below.  hope you enjoy the pics.

sorry if this sent twice, it didnt like the pictures.

Glad you had a good time.  Looks like the crowds were not bad at all.

That salmon is nasty, I wouldn't have even touched that thing.

I believe they are considered type 5.  Those did not belong to me personally, wasn't aware of that rule while I was up there.  There is a section of stream that doesnt need life vest, and a part of stream that does.  I mainly fished the section where they were not needed when I was alone, with the guide we fished where the use of them was sort of up in the air.  Ones I do own that I like are by Mustang.  Hope this helps.   Thank you everyone for the comments.  The crowds weren't to bad due tot he fact that most of the salmon were gone.

Thanks for the info, Danny. I'm getting ready to count out the money in my 5 gallon water jug, a/k/a the Kayak Fund, maybe during time off around Christmas.  Not just the boat, but also PFD, paddle, car rack need to be budgeted for.  I must be gettin' old because I think about wearing one of those inflatable PFDs whenever I fish the big river up around Harpers and water levels are a little high.
