Anyone seen or targeted NSH yet this year?  If so, have you had any luck?  I'm still trying to find some snakehead to target and, as of yet, I haven't seen any in any of the tidal creeks on the MD side, to include Mattowoman.  Not sure where the majority of these guys hang out, but I guess I'll just have to put more time on the water to get into some.
Thanks for the info,
Trevor

I am not an expert, by far, but I have caught 2 on the flyrod.  I caught them in special circumstances.

Lately I have been chasing them in Belmont Bay.  Specifically, Kane's Creek.  They like weeds, lots of weeds.  I heard of it as they really like having a roof over their head.  They also tend to be in shallow water.

The only way to access a lot of the water to fish for them is by boat.  I have also heard that their population is down due to harvesting them.

Good luck

They are up in the C&O canal up around Pennyfield lock.  I haven't been up there this year, but last fall I saw one as I was on a walk.

Good luck catching them, but the guys bass fishing do seem to catch them.

I was out fishing with my son where Rock Creek meets the Potomac, and we saw one right behind Thompson's boat house.

Thanks for the info.  I'll have to get the 'yak out and paddle around some more.  Maybe I'll head across the river to Belmont Bay.  Thanks again.

I've heard a couple rumors about them being up in the canal.  I've been meaning to head up there, but I hate fighting the traffic!  Maybe it's time for a day of carp and NSH.  Thanks for the info.

They're thick in Roaches Run. I was there this morning and saw plenty. Heard of a few caught, too, but I wasn't so lucky.

I did see a few breach completely out of the water, though. That was pretty cool!

Great info.  Maybe I'll head up that way and give it a try.

Best of luck! Let us know how you do! I managed 1 bass and 1 catfish out of there yesterday.
