I made a new years resolution some time ago to make a donation to a different charity every month.  Most have been fishing/environmental in nature but I am finding that i have reached a point where a lot are repeats so I am looking for some that I may not be aware of.  What are your favorites?

Casting for Recovery
Chesapeake Women Anglers, now a 501.3.c organization, historically dedicated to getting women into fly fishing.

Potomac conservancy, nature conservancy, james river foundation, Mayfly Project, soulriverinc is one I was recently made aware of that sounds super important in our current times.  These are a few that I like to support or am interested in supporting.

Potomac and Shenandoah River Keepers are run under one organization.  Everyone who fishes either of those Rivers should be supportive of their hard work.

Friends of the Rappahanock do a lot of good work on the upper Rappahanock and Rapidan rivers.

www.fishingcommunity.org is a small local nonprofit that sponsors events for veterans, families and kids.  It is 100% donation funded and no staff/overhead - all volunteer.  (as opposed to big non profits where CEO is pulling down 200K+ salary, etc).

This is one i like,  It is the Cacapon & Lost river land trust.  Full disclosure I am a land owner on the cacapon,  but the lost river is a trout stream,  and its head waters above wardensville hold native bookies.  It also is a tributary of the Potomac as it emerges from the bedrock in wardensville  and turns into the cacapon river.
