Hi everyone,

I'm new to the group and getting back into fly fishing after several years of only sporadic activity.  I've missed it terribly!

I'll be spending several days in late March at a rental on the Eastern Shore near St. Michaels and the house is situated on one of the creeks that flow into the Bay.  I'll have dock and shore access, as well as kayaks at my disposal.

Any advice on what I can expect at that time of year would be greatly appreciated.  I'll likely take a six and an eight weight rod with me and spinning setups for my kids.

Thanks in advace,

Dave

This question raises one I have had.  Would the shad be coming up the eastern shore tributaries?

You may want to check out the spring perch run.

Best,

Shad should be around in that part of the bay at that time of year. I think they run up just about any tributary that isn't overly polluted, especially the hickories. Good luck!
