We used to have a rule for tying nights that the last fly had to be made with just scraps from the table. Some of those creations turned out to be great flies.

We tried it a few times -- maybe four or five. Called it "Iron Vise", which is a way better name. We averaged three entries per beer tie -- there just wasn't enough interest to keep it going.
