Hi,
I have a couple of doubts regarding the CAT Tool project,
1) What will the footnotes in the translation actually consist of?
2) Can you please give a simple example of a text having multiple translation versions? And out of them which one suits the best and why.
Thanks.

Hi Vaishnav,

The footnotes usually consist of the explanation of terminology. For example, we may translate sanskrit word "karuṇā" into "compassion" but the actual meaning of them in both languages would have lots of difference. One may put further clarifications into the footnotes.

You can easily find many translation versions on some commonly referred sutras, such as the English translations of Heart Sutra or Diamond Sutra.
