Good afternoon Garden Club Members,

Happy Fall!  Personally, this is my favorite time of the year! ☺️🍂🍁🎃🏈🦃

We had a great kickoff to our new program year for Garden Club earlier this month and made plans for the rest of 2025.  Our officers for this year are
Daphne Cover- President, Jeff Teeters- Vice President (Programming) and Missy Moore- Sec/Treasurer

Our October meeting will be on Monday, October 13th at 7:00 p.m.  We will meet at St. Bartholomew's Parish House, (4711 Edmondson Ave.).

We will watch a Gardening YouTube video and exchange garden seeds, plants and supplies.  Please bring perennial seeds and divisions from your yard to share
with other garden club members.  Also, if you have garden tools, containers, books, etc. that you would like to pass along, bring those as well.

Jeff Teeters is creating a native plant area  in the Trolley Garden and is looking for milkweed, butterfly weed, coreopsis, verbenas, lobelia, goldenrod, asters, bee balm,
purple coneflower, and black-eyed susan.  If you have seeds or divisions of these plants please bring them to the meeting and Jeff will see that they are promptly planted.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me by text or phone.

Enjoy the rest of September and see you soon!

Daphne

Hi Garden Clubbers,

Monday is my husband's birthday. We haven't yet figured out how we will celebrate. If I am available in the evening, I will attend, but I don't know just now.

A reminder to members that our next meeting is  Monday At St. B’s, 7PM. I’ve been harvesting seed from my native perennials to share and to winter sow in the Trolley Garden along the sunny curb across from Daphne’s house. I’d like to get plant divisions now to get started with the pollinator meadow and sow the seeds in late November. So if you can contribute to this endeavor, it would be greatly appreciated. If you can’t attend on Monday, feel free to drop off labeled seed and plants at my home on Kensington Rd. Jeff.

Dear Garden Club Members,

Our November meeting is coming up fast and this month we will be having a speaker on Herb Gardening.

We will meet on our regular meeting date, this coming Monday, November 10th.  We will meet at 7:00 p.m. at the St.B's Parish House, 4711 Edmondson Ave.

Our speaker is Tameka Fuller, founder of Beautiful Rootz Botanicals. She describes herself as a passionate herbalist and says " I’m excited to share my knowledge of nettles and oat straw with you in this 45-minute class. I bring a fresh perspective and deep enthusiasm to my work, and I’m eager to help others discover the amazing properties of these powerful herbs. Whether you’re a seasoned herbalist or just beginning your journey, I look forward to connecting with you and exploring the wonders of plant medicine together."

There will be no potluck meal with this meeting, so we are starting at 7:00. However, if you would like to bring something made with herbs to share with the group, that would be fun!

Also, we will be allotting a certain portion of each meeting to sharing so we can learn from one another. Please bring your gardening questions, knowledge and resources to share with our neighbors!

If you have any questions, please call or text Daphne at (410) 440-0342.

See you soon!

Jeff Teeters- Vice President (Programming)
Missy Moore- Sec/Treasurer

Good afternoon and Happy New Year!

Our first Garden Club meeting of 2026 will be held next Monday, January 12th at the St. B's Parish House.

We will meet at 7:00 p.m. and our speaker will be Alex Smith.  Alex has spoken to our group once before and in the meantime he has greatly expanded his business and knowledge.  His organization is currently offering internships, farming, landscaping and consultations.  To learn more about his programs, you can check out the website of Division Street Outdoor Contracting here:  https://www.dsocontracting.com/about  He is also involved with Farmalliancebaltimore.org
and the  Black Butterfly Teaching Farm.

In addition to hearing about Alex's endeavors, he will also help us with our own gardens by discussing what to start with as a vegetable gardener, what is easiest and how early do you start? Fencing ideas or ideas for keeping animals out. Creative planter ideas for the novice gardener who may not have a raised bed or needs a smaller space garden.

We look forward to seeing you on Monday for this interesting program,
